Core Web Vitals: Crucial for Your Agency's Clients

It's not just about rankings: it's about conversion rate, perceived quality, and project profitability.

February 17, 2026 Performance

Agencies can deliver visually polished sites and still miss the business outcome if performance is treated as a secondary detail. When landing pages, ads, or lead-gen flows underperform, the root cause is often technical before it is creative.

This is also why I keep performance tied to stack choice and implementation discipline, not just audits, in services like WordPress performance and SEO.

1. LCP (Largest Contentful Paint)

Does the site load in under 2.5 seconds? If not, a meaningful share of traffic disappears before the offer is even seen. Reducing CSS and JS blocking protects paid traffic, landing pages, and acquisition funnels your client is already investing in.

When a team is considering more radical stack changes in the name of speed, I also recommend reading Astro vs WordPress before assuming a framework switch is the only fix.

2. CLS (Cumulative Layout Shift)

Does the layout jump while loading? That instantly hurts trust, especially on e-commerce, forms, and lead generation pages. I define proper dimensions for every image and asset so the page feels stable and credible from the first render.

3. INP (Interaction to Next Paint)

When users click a button and the interface hesitates, the product feels low quality. Optimizing JavaScript execution improves responsiveness and removes friction exactly where the client is trying to win leads or sales.
